   Synopsis

A Non-random state of the entire universe rather than just human life and existence is not always considered in creative expression. The assembly of poems in Cosmological Tendencies is meant to confront paradox, generate humor, expose human situations from the only plausible view, from example as they are part, without exception, of a cosmos that has no parts that are 'out of this world', is a story line itself that contains and beholds itself as one beholds the stories of life that exist no other way but in the beholding, and is all that exists. I hope, poetic constructions in a 'bits and pieces' approach inherited from an academic background in the Natural Sciences, diverging to confront human paradox, will enlighten, entertain and educate to the possibility of a wall that, other than fixed and pre-existing, though immoveable, grows forwards from the conscious reflections that compose the choruses of men and women in their learnings rather than from their engagements to action. .

Prologue

Cosmological tendencies was created partly during travels around America and part as I appended studies in Philosophy and Anthropology to my education as PhD in Biochemistry .  I hope,  more than with the creation of imagery in poetry, that I have managed to create in words the potential to ‘see’  within the perplexities of being human and spiritual, spaces where the mind struggles for uniting concepts within a non-comprehendible  reading for order of the passing of time by the senses.

The included poems, mostly  written in Los Angeles during the period from 2000 to 2010, a few earlier during the 80’s as a student in New York and Baltimore, are arranged in random order with the hope to stimulate the imagination to take meaning in whatever various words or combinations within themes to  produce diverse impressions, perspectives of words and ideas according to individual inclinations and creativity. In preparation for reading, a discontinuity rather than order for the assortment of meaning  with regards to expression and style, changed over the course of my life and educational experiences,  is deliberate so that each piece should be construed to stand on its’ own, though certain themes- i.e. regarding  the questioning and irony of circumstance-may appear to thread consistently throughout.   It is my ultimate hope to expand the vision, employing simplicities, to perceive a world that is ultimately more relative than constant, but certain rather than uncertain that there is not a something else ‘out of the world’ beyond the knowings and familiarities plain to vision and shared to human existence.

Where Your Can Hear Color

   Reflected in your next
            feta peta
           spun and turned
              and slightly burned
                   gourmet
               sandwich special
          'tween the blues
            above and below
                 beyond
       the sounds and noises,
        lights and darks
         of the subliminal
                   bourbon
              blue in the moody streets

pass the wind

itself follows its' nose
       leads us all

"If  I knows only what to say
      a day yesterday past
         this tomorrow following
          I'd be lying"
     " If your seeking a
        rhyme for your metaphors"
"I've only got rhythm for your moods"
        "controlled by the rolls
              if they rolling
              and not if
                 I aint
                jazzed by the blue
of the ocean I just blown by
                     or the blue sky above
                          mates senselessly
                                a day prior tomorrow
                                   endlessly
                                       far as I know"
"other I have hardly nothing to say at all
      "as is true
           a truth
         mates nothing but itself
as the endless  mate a blue
            bring forth a rhyme
                births a moody motion
                   relentlessly presses
                     the air to sound
                      for the ear."

        I heard said
out of the blue
                    of the wind
                        had never
                          been said questioned
                             in this important matter
                           reigns  above all
                             at the highest
                             and most important place
                                 of neither here nor there
                                     and referring
in highest of respect and regard
                                               to pause and contemplate
                                               during its'  travels
                                                of the world
                                         to where I am.
